The history of modern, elite sports has been a century of growing immersion. Audiences love to feel brought into what it is to be an athlete, experiencing the excellence of performance that the most extraordinary achievements represent.

We are fascinating by understanding what it means to be the best.

At the last SportAccord, we discussed how this is being advanced by gaming and esports.

With the current pause and reflect position of the International Olympic Committee – IOC, this is a moment to dive into the new possibilities afforded by technology to make even more remarkable communities of interest around sport.

Getting this right is important for sports and, more crucially, for the future of younger generations, who have been let down by the absence of guidance in living their best digital lives.
